Now a CCTV for the lock-ups
Mumbai's L T Marg police station is all set to get an 'Electronic Surveillance Systems for lock-ups' that will enable the police officers to keep an eye on the prison inmates and their activities. The system has been organised and sponsored by the Giants Group of Mumbai South. Mr Abuzar Zakir, Project Chairman, while speaking to mid-day.com said: "This will be a first-of-its-kind in Maharashtra. Cameras will be installed in the lock-ups and the officers will have TV sets in their cabins. As a result the officer will no longer need to go to the lock-up to check whether everything is working fine." Mumbai police commissioner Dr P S Pasricha will inaugurate the system tomorrow with many dignitaries including IPS officer S P S Yadav, Additional CP (South Region), Justice Anant Mane, Chairman, Maharashtra Human Rights Commission and the World Chairman of the Giants Group, Mr Nana Chudasama attending the ceremony.
